Crysis 2 System Requirements (Can’t play it on your computer?)

Primary tabs

Crysis

The original Crysis which was released in 2007 instantly became the ultimate computer gaming system benchmark. The game was so tough on

PCs. In 2007 most systems barely could run it at medium settings at best, if they could run it at all. Now in March 2011 Crysis 2 has been released. Similar to the original the graphics of the game look freakin’ sweet. You will also need a pretty fast modern, gaming PC to run Crysis 2 at decent graphics settings smoothly. If you have any problem installing or playing Crysis 2 smoothly on your computer or if you are not sure if your computer is compatible with Crysis 2 feel free to ask for help in the comments section below. If would help a lot if you give us the following info on your computer when you ask for help… - Operating System (also is it 32 or 64-bit?) - Processor on your computer - Amount of RAM on your computer - Graphic card on your computer - Do you have a Desktop or Laptop? If you are unsure of any particular computer specification your PC may have that is not a problem. Just follow this tutorial and it will show you how to find all of your PC system specs. Hey, my name is Sebastian, you might have seen a bunch of messages in Joeys other, and similar forum about black ops instead of Crysis 2. Anyway i currently using a Laptop with the follow specs:

Operatig System: Windows 7 home-premium 64-bit
CPU: Intel I5 430M(2.27Ghz)
Ram: 4gb 1066mhz
GPU: Ati Mobility Radeon Hd 5850
Monitor: 1920x1080

Anyway even though the recommended is the GTX 280, which is a bitching card, dont be fooled, you can still run it at high settings, with lower cards. Anyway using the setup, as showed, i can run Campaign mode at maxed out settings(Extreme graphics, full hd etc.), with only minor lagg occuring once in a while.

If you wanna optimise your system, you gotta do a few changes, ill start by telling what i have done to make my system as fast as possible. Joey inspiret me, and 2 of the programs have been achieved with help from him. Anyway Download the following programs:

Ccleaner
ATF-Cleaner
Spywareblaster
Spybot - Search and Destroy(Use with responsibility)
SUPERantiSpyware(Thanks Joey)
Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware(Thanks Joey)

And then download a free trial of a pay to use antivirus program, and make it scan your system(BullGuard, Nortan, Kaspersky etc.)

Oka, then you gotta use the programs, when done, have fun playing:).

Btw, if you only keep the important stuff shown on your computer, and the rest in a file, then it will start up faster, as it wont load the other files.

Hello login,

I am sorry to say the ATI Mobility Radeon 4200 integrated graphics card is not compatible with Crysis 2. If you have a desktop then you would have to upgrade your graphics card and it would work. This is assuming you have a compatible CPU and enough RAM to play the game.
If you have a laptop then you will not be able to upgrade your graphics card.

Hi Mahanama,

The nVidia GeForce GT 250 graphics card and 4 GB of RAM pass the Crysis 2 minimum requirements.
The Intel E5300 2.6 GHz Dual Core processor is under the Crysis 2 minimum requirements.

The game would not run well on this computer. It will run very slowly. It might even freeze the PC.
I recommend upgrading your processor to an Intel Core2Duo that is over 2.0 GHz (preferably 2.66 GHz or higher).

also if you want your games to run faster use gamebooster, if you can find free full version its 100% better, this is my system

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz (somtimes overclocked to 2.91GHz)
Memory: 3072MB RAM
Graphics:

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB
Display Memory: 1777 MB
Dedicated Memory: 497 MB
Shared Memory: 1279 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (75Hz)
i have not tried it on my 37" hd tv yet

when it loads up the game i get unsupported card but it still runs in high graphics running smoothly. i am going to try it on higher settings but i doubt it will run that smooth

Hello mikeyxb,

According to Electronic Arts (the makers of Crysis 2) the nVidia GeForce 8600 GT is not compatible with Crysis 2. I guess you proved EA wrong, lol.

Your AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ and 3 GB RAM pass the Crysis 2 minimum requirements.

As far as making it run smoother I think you have done everything possible to make the game run as smooth as it can at the high settings especially since your graphics card isn’t as fast as EA would want you to have.

Hi Zack,

Yes, your ATI Mobility Radeon HD 670M exceeds the Crysis 2 minimum system requirements.
The Intel Core i5-480 and 4GB of RAM are really good too.

You should at least be able to play Crysis 2 at medium graphics settings. You might be able to dip a little into high settings.
