Learn How-To Find Your Computer System Specs Using SIW

Using System Information for Windows

When I was new to computers I had no freakin’ clue what type of CPU, RAM, hard drive or video card I had inside my computer case. Back then if someone wanted to know what chipset my motherboard contained and how many RAM slots I had free they would have seen a glossy eyed look on my face.

For those of you out there that are not advanced computer users I have found a great, free program for you. The program will allow you to easily find all of the above mentioned information about your computer and a lot more. The freeware program is named, “System Information for Windows”.

System Information for Windows is a very useful program to have that will make your life a lot easier if you should ever need any help from a computer tech. If he/she asks you for any computer system specification that you have no clue about just use SIW to easily get the info. SIW also helps people like me who do not memorize their computer specs. I have had the same motherboard on my computer for about 2 years now. I recently wanted to download the manual for it. All I needed to know what the brand and serial number. I then realized I forgot that information and I built the dam thing, lol. In the past I would have to disconnect all the wires that were connected to my PC and put it on a table while I searched the motherboard with a flashlight for the brand and model number. Now all I have to do is open up SIW to get that info which takes less than 20 seconds.

In the following System Information for Windows video tutorial I will take you step-by-step and you will easily learn the following...
1. How-To download and install System Information for Windows
