I am assuming The Sims 3 base game was running perfectly before you installed the expansion pack?
If No, then please explain the problems you were having. The steps below might not fix your problem. Also post your CPU, RAM and Graphics card specs please.
If Yes, it was running perfectly then proceed to the steps below to fix your problem.
Step 1, fully update Windows XP/Vista/7 with all the latest updates via Windows Update. The video at the end of the articles below will show you how to exactly do this.
