The birth of Firefox 3ⁱ brought with it a great new feature for students, researchers and anyone else looking for specific text on a crowded web page. The new feature is called Text Search.

By default the Text Search feature is disabled. You must go into the options and enable it. After it is enabled you can visit any web page on any website and search for any specific text. When a text match is found Firefox highlights it and automatically scrolls down the webⁱ page to the location of the piece of text you were searching for. If there are multiple instances of the text on the specific web page you are searching on then the Text Search feature will only bring up the first instance.

NOTE: This tutorial was created using Firefox 3.5 but as I first mentioned this feature exists in the older Firefox 3.
