An example of ActiveX in action is the installation of an Internet Explorer browser plug-in like Adobe Flash player. When you visit the Adobe plug-in download web page (which fully supports ActiveX) a yellow bar pops up on top of the Internet Explorer browser. It asks if it is okay for Adobe to take control of Internet Explorer and install the plug-in for you. That is the power of ActiveX.
