Have a new Dell computer; Windows Vista OS.  Get high speed cable internet, as well as cable television from Comcast. Music an important part of my usage; Comcast provides some 40 diverse channels - all genre of music- called Music Choice - on both the television and on the Internet.

The music reception on television is very good, however, on  the computer there are constant interruptions - dead silence - of one or two  seconds, and these interruptions can occur constantly, maybe 10 or 20 seconds or a minute apart.  This happens only on Music Choice, not when I play a CD, or music from my hard drive, or from Youtunes, or a radio  channel.   Discussing it with cable provider, they don't seem to have a clue.  Quandry is that cable service calls can get expensive if the fault turns out not to be in their system.

Of course, I don't expect the cable Co, to fix my computer if it's not their fault.  Any ideas what this could be?

Try this... Test out the music streaming service GrooveShark for a week. See how it runs for you. If runs at least as smooth as YouTube then the problem is with Music Choice and their servers.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the darn thing seems to have corrected itself; started working just fine.

I suspect it was something weird going on in Music Choice.

Actually Music Choice was my #1 and only suspect for your problem but I didn't want to start pointing fingers before I had you experiment to pinpoint the issue to Music Choice or possibly something else that popped up along the way.  Smiley

the best way in my oppion is to buy your music instead of download, if you don't want to buy get limewire, it has the quality so you see what you are downloading, this program also applies for videos, programs and movies.
