I am not sure what you mean by, "i can't find my disk drive"? Where are you searching for it?

I do know that your hard disk drive is working is working pretty well since you can start Windows up. I have seen many go bad over the years. When they go bad you can't start Windows, you can't even get into safe mode. All of your files are gone with no chance of recovery. If that happens the hard drive is basically destroyed with no turning back.

Okay I see now. When you go into My Computer you can see your "C" drive fine. But your "D" drive does not work. The drive that you can't see is your CD/DVD drive?

dis wat i did below.

Type in "regedit" without the parenthesis then click ok
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Then SYSTEM
Then CURRENT CONTROL SET
Then CONTROL
Then CLASS
Then find {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
The whole thing looks like this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Then delete the upper and lower filters....

RESTART YOUR COMPUTER THEN THERE YA GO!
