HI...first time here...and admittedly a computer dinosaur. Not long ago, I had a major crash and my geek reformatted my hard drive. Saved almost everything,
but I've noticed that when I watch a video I can't get a full-screen image. Instead the screen goes blank (white). The video continues to play, but I have to hit ESC
to get the image back. I know there must be something relatively simple that will let
me watch videos and movies full-screen again, but don't have a clue what it is or where to look. Your help would really be appreciated. --voiceproinfo

The basic Windows player does not read a lot of formats. The way I make sure any computer I use plays Any Video out there is to install the free VLC player and CCCP codec pack.

Here is a really easy to follow tutorial that will show you where to find, download and install VLC and CCCP.

I appreciate your response, Joey...but you must have overlooked the line where I said I am a computer dinosaur. Is the latest Flash player a free download on the web? And how do I know if my graphics card drivers are up to date? Duh...

What type of videos are you trying to watch. Are they videos you download, then play from your computer OR are they the videos you play directly from websites?

btw, the vast majority of video tutorials on here are very simple to follow. They take you by the hand and guide you every step of the way.  Smiley

Okay...I like to watch movies and Tv shows on my computer. Before this latest crash, I could just click the Full Screen icon and it was fine. Now when I click
the Full Screen icon, it just goes white. I can hear the program...but have to hit ESC to get back to the windowed version. Thanks for your input...

Okay, I am assuming you download the videos. Then open them up on your computer. Am I correct?

To view any type of movie or TV show on my computer I downloaded and installed 2 free things and any video content I download now works 100%, even on full screen. Just follow my tutorial below. It will take you by the hand and show you step-by-step show you what to do in a simple manner.
