2 questions...

#1, Do you have an open AGP or PCI-Express card slot on your computer?

#2, What is your budget for the video card? Do you want something for under $70, or maybe under $200?

If you plan to play games on the computer I think you should not upgrade the current Pentium 4 PC and buy a new one. This is especially true if your PC is old enough to even have an AGP slot on it.

The new Core i5 and i7 Intel CPUs were made for gamers. When I save enough money that will be my next gaming PC... one with an Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU.

Don't install Vista or Windows 7 on your PC. It will run slower. If it runs slower the games will run slower.

You confused me a little. Most computers only have an AGP slot or PCI- Express x16 slot. I posted my recommendations for you below on both AGP and PCI-Express x16 slots.

AGP - ATI Radeon HD 4670 1 GB
PCI-Express x16 - nVIdia GeForce GTS 250 1 GB

Do not upgrade to Windows Vista or 7. It will make you computer run a little bit slower. Windows XP is best for you.

I saw your computer motherboard pics. Great job at taking them, they were very clear Smiley

You have an AGP slot. My recommendation is an AGP ATI Radeon HD 4670 1 GB

I looked around for a comparable nVidia video card that will fit the older AGP slot. The ones I found are inferior to the ATI Radeon HD 4670.

nVidia has very fast cards, I think they even have the fastest one in the world right now. But nVidia only offers it's faster cards for the newer PCI-Express x16 slots.

hey I'm having a problem running games, and i think i need to update. But I'm gettin kinda confused. I'm on 32 bit windows 7 ultimate, amd Turion 64 X2 1.60 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM, and i tried to figure out my graphics card, but it just says standard VGA. And the thing is, is that i used to be able to play some pretty decent games on this laptop, but now for some reason i can't even play the old school games, like WW2 sniper or anything.

Test out your laptop on the Game-o-Meter site with whatever game you are trying to play. The site will also tell you the exact graphics card you have.
