I honestly have no experience with RDP, sorry.

We have Server 2003 at work. The way we setup printers is via static IP. Then each of our computers points to that IP if they want to print (of course we still use the standard printer driver specific to each printer model).

Another way I have been setting them up lately is via Printer Name. So even if they are on a dynamic IP the assigned Printer Name always points to them.

Have you tried setting them up by IP or Printer Name?

HI

Thanks for your reply ,  I cant connect the printer using IP or name because the printer belong to a client not to us , and that printer is connected directly to a pc using a port and any body who want to print to that printer remotely should log into a server by RDP and then print . the printer print normally with no problem if you print directly from the PC connected to , however you get the problem when you print remotely which indicate a problem with drive as I think . how can uninstall the drive and what name should that driove or printer have to match .

Thanks

To remove the printer driver you go into the Printers or Devices and Printers section within the Control Panel and just select and delete the printer in question.

I just thought of a way we networked a printer at work without using assigning an IP address...
1. We connected a client PC to a printer via USB
2. We enabled Printer and File Sharing on the computer that was connected to a printer via USB
3. The PC always needed to be turned On in order for anyone to have access to the USB printer

Since all the PCs that needed to print were on the same network they could all print via network.

Hi Joey,

thanks for your ideas ,

Connecting the printer to a PC and then using a server to log in to that pc have advatasge that you can print to the printer from any machine in the worl as long as you can RDP to that server .

Deleting the printer from that list that you specified might not delet the driver itself , and you will get same drive ( currpted one ) once you add the printer again .
