Well I just recently got my computer upgraded. I got a new hard drive, a video graphics card, and RAM. But when I got my computer and hooked up my computer, when I turned it on the monitor was saying "VGA Input: No signal" and than recommended settings. But than it would say monitor going to sleep. I am trying to figure out this problem without having to spend more money.

Could anyone give any suggestions as to what I should do? I really can't afford to buy anymore things for my computer, and I'm hoping it's just a minor thing that needs to be fixed. Oh and another thing when the computer repair guy tested out the computer on his monitor it worked. Could it be that my monitor can't read the graphics card because it is updated?

i had a similar issue when i purchased my latest second hand pc.
i found that my ram cards are very sensitive and were probably bumped when transporting the pc home. at first tried to give them a wiggle and it worked and have now reseated the cards.as long as i dont bump my pc,its fine.
also when i use my good monitor set at 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution, then change back to my ancient monitor, the settings are needed to be set at 1024 x 768 pixels (maximum).
if i dont set it,i end up with a black screen before the monitor goes to rest and the green light(power button) becomes orange.
i hope this may help you,or perhaps someone else has a better suggestion.

Hello,
The problem is either from your video card or your RAM.

Open up the case and switch around the RAM sticks. Turn it on and see if it works. If that does not work then take out all of the sticks of RAM except for 1. Turn the PC on and see if it works.

The second possible fix is to take out the new video card and put in your old one. Turn on the computer and see if it works. If this fix works then your new video card is dead.
