Hello

I also have a problem with Sims 3.. it's too slow... the "simish" time is almost like true time.. i cant do anything, for every action i have to wait forever.....
I use a laptop, H/P Pavilion dv6000 that runs Vista home edition 32bit service pack 1, CPU AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz, 2GB RAM dual channel DDR2 @ 319 MHz, Motherboard Quanda 30cf (socket s1), graphics NVidia 64mb GeForce 7150M and an 156,29 GB Hitachi hard drive from which 25,6GB free.... is there a problem that causes that retardation?Huh
I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 home premium 32bit.. will that help??
Thank u so much for your help!!!

Hello. Welcome to the site! :-)

I would not suggest going to Windows 7 to fix the Sims 3 problem. The problem lies within the NVidia 64mb GeForce 7150M. It is a bit underpowered to play The Sims 3. There are some things you can do that might speed up the game a bit.

- Speed up your overall PC. There are a few steps within the process and the last step I suggest you perform right before you go to sleep at night because it can take 2-5 hours the first time around. You may skip step #1 if you like.
http://www.cleartechinfo.com/forum/operating-systems/free-up-hard-drive-storage-space-and-speed-up-your-computer-(free-mod)/

After you performed the steps in the tutorial linked above, Restart your computer. Then open up The Sims 3 game and follow the instructions below.

- Within The Sims 3... Turn down the graphics/monitor resolution all the way down. Then set all the graphics/visual settings within Sims 3 to the lowest.

See how it works out for you and reply back with the difference in speed if you can please.  Smiley

Hello Joey! Thanks for your reply!
I did what u recommended except from step 4.. i thought it was a freeware but they asked me to pay about 40 euros in order to get a key and proceed with the repair.... Sorry i'm not paying anything.....
As for the game's graphics resolution it's already set to "low".

I don't know what else to do....... the game is ok for the first 5-7 minutes and then it slows down a lot.....

Anyway, thanks again

Hello,

This is the download page for Step 4, "MyDefrag". It's supposed to be free.

See if performing step 4 helps the game since it boosts your overall system speed a bit.

Hello again Joey!!

Finally i  finished step 4....!!!! It took more than 5 hours...
Now, the results, i've  noticed a visible difference in the average output of my laptop but unfortunatelly the game is still veeeeery slow..... I can't explain that, it starts ok and then gradually it becames slow.
Now all i do is play for 10 minutes max, then save and quit and after some time i can play again..

Thanks for all your help  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy!!!!!

I guess Sims 3 is just too tough on the GeForce 7150M video card. Sorry I couldn't speed it up any more.
