Hey everyone I had a few questions. I would like to play the game WoW but I'm going to build the pc myself( actually my father is building it for me) I need to know whwat parts of a computer I need to get in order to run the game. my budget is really really tight. about 400-500. I already have a 80g harddrive but I know I need a graphics card, ram, fan, and quite a few other things. can anyone please help me with this? I am really clueless about what to get. my os is windows xp. don't know if that matters or not. and it's an older computer it's a gateway, it originally had windows 98 on it. thanks.

What state do you live in or what country do you live in? In parts of the Western US there is a store called Fry's Electronics that has good prices on motherboard/CPU combos.

Hi Izzy,

They don't have a Fry's where you live. Two good sites to go on to buy computer parts from when building a PC is NewEgg.com and Amazon.com. I have bought PC parts from both of them many times.

I went on NewEgg.com and put together the core of your computer. CPU, Motherboard, RAM and Graphics card for about $351. This system will play WoW VERY well. You will love it.

In the future, like 2-3 years when the newer, next generation games need more power the motherboard will allow you to add a faster CPU, graphics card and double the memory to 8 GB.

Here is a screen capture I took of the core of your computer I built for you

You are welcome. Glad I could help.

Do not forget to tell your friends about this site :-)

Your brother is correct. The CPU does need a fan. Good thing is the exact CPU model # I chose for you (in the picture above) includes a fan and heat sink.
