Hello. Welcome to the site Smiley

Mass Effect 2 needs a faster, more powerful computer to run compared to the old Mass Effect 1. So if your PC can run ME2 with minimal lag, there will be no lag at all when running the original Mass Effect 1.

Thank for the response and welcome. Sorry for taking so long to respond but i did not know how, turns out you have to be signed in. I did not know if i make a new post or add on to this one if i had additional questions. So if i was supposed to make a new one sorry for posting the question. It's just that when i run mass effect 1 i experience lag whereas this was not the case for the majority of mass effect 2. And requirements say i should be able to run at high settings with high performance. sorry for long question and thanks Joey for your fast response and please forgive by lack of knowledge on these sorts of things.

np. You did everything correctly  Smiley

If Mass Effect 1 runs slower than the newer Mass Effect 2 on your PC then the older ME1 does not take advantage of newer CPUs. Your Intel Core i3 is made to run new games pretty well. But some older games are not programmed to fully take advantage of the latest CPU technology.

The original Mass Effect is 5 years old. Back then I guess the Mass Effect programmers either forgot or didn’t think it was necessary to program the game to take advantage of the newest processors.

To try to decrease lag in ME1 go into the graphics settings and see how high everything is. It might be set to max or high. Set everything to around Medium settings.
Also what might help run all games a little faster on your PC is to install the free app "Game Booster". Get Game Booster here: http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

Thank you for the quick response. Iv started running ME1 with game booster and decreased certain graphical options and i'm happy to say it's helped alot. Iv had a massive increase in frame rate. You've been a big help than you.
