Hi Robert. The laptop below will have enough power to play Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and Modern Warfare 3.

It is just below $800

Hi Joey,

Please let me know- can "HP Pavilion dv6-6140us" handle games like BF3, crysis at low or medium setting.

http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6140us-Entertainment-Notebook/dp/B0051OLSKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326843147&sr=8-1

Basically i want to go with HP or Dell for budget gaming laptop which can play as i mentioned recent FPS at medium or low setting.

Please let me know for any other suggestion , and thanks for your time.

The processor is okay but the graphics card is not that fast. It would be laggy even at low settings on BF3 and Crysis 2.

The laptop I recommend above is a much better option.

Hi Joey,

Ok I have  got ASUS K53SV-DH51 from Newegg as recommended by you and i am happy with it as it has exceeded my expectation and is exactly what i was looking for.

Now here i have query.

When i use it for gaming it gets hot like 78C to 80C and even 82C.
I have tried to google various option that could help me cool down the laptop.

I use Cooling pad which cools it only by 5C.

I want your advise for the Power Option Setting.

Like if i go to advance power option and change the Maximum Processor State to 80 (Plugged in) it does help to drop the temp by 10C.(and i have not noticed any significant lag after changing this setting)

Now i dont know is this setting OK or can damage the laptop, Please let me know your advise

Thanks for your time.
Robert

Hi Robert. It is very safe to underclock your CPU. The only time you have to worry is if you somehow overclock it and go over 100%, then things can go wrong.

btw, when you play games on the laptop, do you have it on a table or desk? If it is sitting on your lap it will overheat it.

Glad you like the laptop. It is a very nice one for gaming :-)
