PLEASE NOTE: None of the new computers I chose come with a monitor. Any PC monitor purchased in the past decade will run with them. I just upgraded my computer to a high end Intel Core i7 processor and GeForce graphics card, and I am still using the same monitor I had for the past 10 years. It runs fine.

http://amzn.to/e6KGWE
-Dell Studio XPS sx8100-850NBC (desktop)
Processor: Intel Core i5-650 3.2 GHz
RAM: 6 GB
Graphics: GeForce 310M 512 MB
* The processor and RAM are really good specs for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The graphics card is compatible with COD: BO but on the lower end. You can always upgrade the graphics card to a higher end one anytime you want. This computer will accept the lowest to the highest end graphics card out right now.

http://bit.ly/f3bQPp
- HP p6670t (desktop)
Processor: Intel Core i5-650 3.2 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5570 1 GB
* The CPU, RAM and Graphics card are good. Call of Duty: Black Ops will run really smooth on medium to high graphics settings.

If anybody is thinking about purchasing a new computer (desktop or laptop) and is wondering if it is compatible with Call of Duty: Black Ops, feel free to post the computer info below. Please post the exact Processor and Graphics card it has, also the amount of RAM it comes with. It would also help if you post the brand and model number.

The Intel Core i3 550 3.2 GHz processor would run Call of Duty: Black Ops very well (as long as it has a decent video card to go with it).
There is no question about the RAM, it is more than enough.
The problem on this system is the graphics card. The GeForce G310 is not fast enough for Black Ops.

This system is really nice. I recommend to purchase this system. Then upgrade the graphics card to a "GeForce GTS 450". The lowest price one I found is linked below:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125342

There are a few upgrades that I would not recommend you doing on a computer just yet, but a graphics card upgrade is not one of them. It is easier than you think. The first time it might take you 25 minutes to perform. The 2nd time it would probably take you less than 5 minutes.

Here are 2 video tutorials I found on YouTube that show you how easy it is to upgrade your graphics card.

It bothers me that you can't just buy a normal-priced computer to play Black Ops.
That I have to buy a graphic card for $110..

Because I was looking for a computer with max €600,- And now I have to buy one €580 + $110 ...

It's just for one game... And if I look for computers, the graphic cards don't get that high.. I mean.. it's just very annoying.. That you have to buy a higly prices computer, AND I ONLY WANT TO PLAY 1 GAME ON IT...

But I'll just keep searching..

Thanks for your help  Grin

Can you give me a list of with which graphic cards I can play Black Ops?
Because most of the processors are ok.

The requirements on internet says this:
* Video: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600GT / ATI Radeon® X1950Pro or better

So can you give me a list, like this.. NVIDIA GeForce version this to this, Ati Radeon version this to this etc. (the ones that are better than the ones listed above) So I can search more specificly.
If you would do this, I would REAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY appreciate it Cheesy
again; thank you for your help. Your awesome.

If you are looking for the best lowest price solution it would be to purchase a low priced computer (with a good CPU) that offers an expansion slot for upgrading your graphics card (PCI-Express x16 slot). Then install what you want in there.

The problem is when you purchase a computer with a higher end graphics card they also throw in a higher end CPU. The prices then skyrocket.

The absolute lowest priced graphics card I would recommend purchasing for Call of Duty: Black Ops is the ATI Radeon HD 4650. You should be able to buy it for under 45 euros.

There are so many graphics cards out there. I don’t think I could come close to giving you a complete list. But what I did is scour the Internet and find an updated graphics card chart listing more than I could ever think of.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-radeon-hd-6870-radeon-hd-6850,2782-7.html

On the Left (GeForce) side find the “8600 GT (DDR2)” graphics card. Anything from that block-Up will be compatible with Call of Duty: Black Ops.
On the Right (Radeon) side find the “X1950 PRO”. Anything from that block-Up will be compatible with Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I hope this helps  Smiley

The Processor E5700 is way underpowered to run Call of Duty: Black Ops. Do not buy that one.

Only buy computers with "Core 2 Duo", "Core i" and "Phenom II X4" processors.

Hey Joey,

I went to the store today, and I asked for a computer compatible for Black Ops. He said that I should wait, because in the week before christmas (3 weeks) they'll get a new computer which is a sort of gaming computer that's for 850, with good specs.. I don't know the specs yet, but he said you can totally play Black Ops on it..

So I'm going to wait for 3 weeks and then buy a new computer Cheesy
I'll tell you when I know the specs Wink But thanks for all your help.. I'm just going to wait now..

I've got some good news, I guess..
My brother bought a PS3, with Assasin's Creed Brotherhood.
now my parents say; buy black ops for the Ps3, it's much cheaper..
So all the searching was a waste of time xD
But I'm going to play Black Ops on PS3 now.. On the Ps3 there's no lagg right? Or is there? And you can go online? And can you go vs other persons that play on the computer??
Let me now Wink And again for all your help, which was for nothing xD

BTW; I guess you play black ops on the PC? If I can play against you, I'd like to (I'm reaaaally bad)

You are welcome Matthew.

You are right, the PS3 version of COD: Black Ops should have no lag when you play single player.
When you go online just like all versions (PS3, Xbox, PC) as long as you have a decently fast DSL or Cable connection there will be no lag.

PS3 can't play against PC online. It is only PS3 vs PS3, PC vs PC.

Have fun  Smiley

To level up fast and get used to the game I usually play, Free For All (“FFA”). At first you will get killed very fast. But after a while you will get used to the fast pace and start to kill people.

As far as weapons and perks go it really varies from person to person. If you have very quick reflexes I would recommend that you use a submachine gun. If you have a really good aim then try an assault rifle. If you have a lot of patience and are really good at hiding then choose to be a sniper.

Very nice system! Smiley

The Intel Core i7 930 2.8 GHz is a very fast gaming CPU.
The nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 512 MB is a little over 2 years old but it is still fast enough to play any game out.
4 GB of RAM is really good.

With the configuration above you will be able to play Call of Duty: Black Ops easily at medium graphics and visual settings. You should even be able to play at high resolution and graphics settings due to your high-end Core i7 CPU.

I do not see any reason why this configuration will not be able to play the Call of Duty game that comes out next (or whenever the next one gets released).

Thanks Joey, please suggest the latest graphic card to go with this config to avoid being old. I'll buy the game today only.

For the current Call of Duty: Black Ops out keep the 9800 GT. It will run the game well with your high end CPU.

But next year or whenever they release the next version of Call of Duty I suggest purchasing an nVIdia GeForce GTX 460 1 GB graphics card. They are a little expensive right now but by the time the next version if COD is released the price will go down.

Yes the Intel Core i3 processors will work with Call of Duty: Black Ops. The only reason that a Core i3 computer would not work with Black Ops is if the computer did not have a compatible graphic card or if it did not have at least 2 GB of RAM.

Thanks.

2 GB is good enough to play Black Ops smoothly. Just make sure your CPU and graphics card passes the COD: Black Ops minimum requirements.

Hi Bezee,

The CPU and RAM specs are good. The bottleneck is your graphics card. The good news at least is that Call of Duty: Black Ops WILL play on your laptop. You just need to follow my tutorial below to guarantee that Call of Duty: Black Ops will play smoothly.

Here is the tutorial: http://www.cleartechinfo.com/How-To-Make-Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops-Run-Faster-Performance-Improvement-Guide

The CPU is below the Call of Duty: Black Ops bare minimum specs needed to run smoothly. There is a chance it will run smoothly but you must follow my tutorial to make Black Ops run faster. Then you must also follow the Bonus tweak guide that our site member JAMES wrote (it is in Blue at the bottom of my tutorial). If you follow everything you will get it to run. There is a catch. It will be running at the lowest possible graphics settings, at 640x480 resolution.

My COD: Black Ops speed optimization tutorial: http://www.cleartechinfo.com/How-To-Make-Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops-Run-Faster-Performance-Improvement-Guide
