Hi. I just joined, and I wanna ask the good people here about one of the problems I have...

I just got Sims Medieval and have been playing it for the past 2 days. Problem is, each time I try to build a blacksmith, the game crashes windows!

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot to mention. My OS is Windows 7.

Is there anything I can do? Buying a new graphics card is my last resort cause it's expensive.

Hi Evelynn  Smiley

Thanks for posting your specs.

The problem might have to do with your graphics card. There have been many issues with “Intel” graphics cards running Sims Medieval.

Try all of the following steps to solve your problems...

1: Fully update Windows 7 via Microsoft Windows Update.
If you are not sure how to do this you can checkout my tutorial on the subject here:
http://www.cleartechinfo.com/How-To-Update-Windows-7-Microsoft-Windows-Update

2: Go to the Intel site linked below to update your graphics card drivers to the latest update
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics

3: Restart your PC

4: Download and Install the free version of “Game Booster”
http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

5: Run Game Booster

6: Now run The Sims Medieval but DO NOT play it yet

7: Go into the Sims Medieval settings, specifically the Graphics Settings and adjust the following...
- Set the Resolution to the lowest possible that the game will allow you to set it to
- Move all of the slider bars to the Left
- UNcheck all the check boxes
Save the Settings and exit the settings menu

8: Play the Sims Medieval, Build a Blacksmith

How does it run now?

Thanks for replying, Joey!

I'm currently updating my driver like you said I should. Internet's been throwing a hissy fit lately with my laptop (the family desktop gets along fine with it) so download and installation is pretty slow.

But that's another problem. Maybe it's a firewall problem or something. Virus, maybe?

Anyway, I'll get back to you on how it goes.

EDIT: So I did what you said, Joey...

I got to build that Blacksmith... and the game didn't crash!

But... When I proceeded to build another building, it crashed. I think EA has a patch for it, but for some reason said patch cannot detect my game...

If I didn't love my laptop so much....
