Just purchased SIMS Medieval for my daughter and need to know if will run on her Laptop.   Here is info on the laptop specs, I don't know much about this but just copied the information I thought was important off of the invoice from the laptop.  It's a Dell laptop about 2 years old.
Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz 800,2M
4GB DDR2  800Mhz, 2DIMM
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
250G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium Edition

Any help would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks.

Hello,

All of your daughter's laptop specs pass the Sims Medieval minimum system requirements.
The Intel GMA 5600MHD integrated graphics card is not that fast when it comes to running the newer games. So games like Sims Medieval need to be set to low graphics settings so it will run smoothly. There is a known glitch in Sims Medieval that sets the graphics to high settings for Intel graphics cards. You must manually change the graphics settings. It is pretty easy, it will just take you 45 seconds to adjust the 1st time.
 Do the following...

1 - Install and open up the game (DO NOT run it yet)

2 - Go into the Settings, Graphics settings menu to be exact

3 -  Set the resolution to the lowest it will allow you to set it

UNcheck the 3 boxes labeled,
“Enable Reflections”
“Enable Animation Smoothing”
“Enable Advanced Rendering”
(So after you UNcheck them they will be DISabled)

There are 8 settings that have bar sliders. Slide all the bars all the way to the Left.

4 - Save the settings and Play the game

Hello,
Try the following fix I found on the EA site...

1. In the EA Download Manager, click the settings gear next to your username on the upper right side

2. Select Settings from the dropdown

3. Click on the ‘Browse Game Installers’ button.  A window will appear with folders in it.

4. Shut down the EA Download Manager

5. Then in the window, double click on the folder with your email address.

6. Delete the file called ‘OfflineCache’

7. Restart your PC

8. Launch EA Download Manager again

9. Now you can Download and Install your Sims game correctly

(btw, your PC is compatible)
