Could you tell me how to insert an animated picture into the message body of an email in Outlook 2007, not as an attachment please? I have tried through insert>picture but it goes in still. Smiley

- Within Outlook 2007 go to Tools > Options > Mail Format
- The 1st option should be, "Message Format".
- Select, "HTML"
- Click the "OK" button

Now you can send animated GIF images. You just need to add an image by using, INSERT > PICTURE

As far as Outlook 2007 RECEIVING emails with animated GIFs... now that is a problem I have not figured out yet.

When you send it to yourself it will not be animated. What I did was send it to an MSN email address I have. It came out animated. I just can't figure out how to animate pics in Outlook 2007.

I sent one (gif) to my hotmail account and it opened animated. So, will they open animated when sending to an ordinary contact email account other than mine? Video clips (avi) go into email as attachments and can be played but won`t go into email message body. Microsoft information on google says animated in Outlook 2007  can be done but i`m not finding it yet. Smiley

I haven't found out how to view any animated GIFs yet within my email. It's weird.

I found an article eHow by googling "How to insert an animated picture into an email Outlook 2007" One tip as follows>#
"The animation you add appears static when you are composing the message. However, the person who receives the message will see the animation." There are other tips in there. I`m at present sending some emails with pictures to see if they animate at the other end.

The method I showed you allows the pictures to be animated on the other end. It worked on my MSN email and your Hotmail email. What we are looking for is the opposite. How to Receive Animated GIFs/Images in our Outlook 2007 box.  Smiley

Still can't find a way yet. I actually took a break from this to edit a couple of new tutorials I am making that will show an Advanced Virus Removal technique I have used hundreds of times at work successfully.  Cool

You said it worked in your Hotmail? It also worked in my MSN mail. So Outlook 2007 can send animated images.

I just read this. Outlook 2007 can send animated images BUT it can NOT Receive animated images  Sad

In order to view the animated images you have to save them to your computer or open them up directly within a web browser.
