Email working with Word

I bought a new Dell PC, I'm not a newbie to computers but maybe so to problems.

I'm using a new 2010 word program that I have been writing on.  Now I want to send a chapter or the complete file but when I click on send using the word program it says:
There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.
please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel.

In the ten or so computers I have owned I have never had to do no such thing.  So this is now a problem.  I use gmail and yahoo so I would say I have an email account.  On my old computers Outlook was always there but its not on my Windows 7.

Suggestion would be very helpful.

Hi Dan. That is a common problem. The PC is probably looking for a version of Outlook with no luck.

Use this free app. It will send all of the "mail:to" links to your Gmail account.
