Hi terrace :-)

.htm files are plain text files. They point (link) to objects like pictures and videos. .htm files do not contain any pictures.

I assume you created this .htm file? The pictures are probably located within your computer? If this is the case then the person on the receiving end will not be able to view the pictures since they are located on your computer.

If you want to share pictures with people there are several good, free and private services online. The ones that come to the top of my head right now are Flickr.com,PhotoBucket.com, imgur.com and minus.com.

Hi Joey, i received that htm file in an email and it opens alright for me with pictures, but when i put it in an email attachment and open it to test, it shows text but no pictures.(attached). Is there a way to convert a htm to jpg? Smiley

If you received an email with a .htm file and were able to view it what you could do is just Forward the Email. When you forward the email to someone they will be able to view what you could.

I am not sure what but something get broken when you grab the .htm file from the email and then attach it to another email. Forwarding will just skip that part.

Also, if you want to convert your .htm file to something you can convert it to "PDF" (Adobe Acrobat) format.
There are many sites online that do this, here is one: http://pdfcrowd.com/#convert_by_upload

When using this site... http://pdfcrowd.com/#convert_by_upload
Try uploading the htm file from the usb jump drive. See if that helps.

Also, besides the .htm file, were any pictures saved to your usb drive?

I tried again "send to mail recipient" from usb jump drive and my documents, where i have saved it and tested the attachment in Outlook and the same result, the text is in there but not the pictures. So, it seems that saving it changes something regarding the pictures. However, i asked my contact to send it to me again and i am able to forward it on straight from the Outlook inbox and the pictures are there, and there`s no need for an attachment. Smiley

Hi Terrace, the settings look good. There would only be a problem with those settings if you could never view the pictures in any email you received. But you were able to view the images through original email so that is not a problem.

It appears the link to the pictures within the .htm file get broken somehow when you transfer it to your usb drive.

Also if you are interested as to what type of information is inside .htm files you can open them within "Notepad". There will be a lot of gibberish in there. The text in between each "<img> </img>" will tell you where the images are linked to.

I had a look through "notepad" and yes a lot of gibberish. complicated.
When i save it gives "thrmedata.thmx,colorschememapping.xml, image 001jpg in one file and the actual .htm file is shown as Type;Firefox document. Smiley

I think I worked out the saving/sending of .htm files in emails. Now when I save them I select “Outlook message *msg Format” instead of “.htm/html”(see attachment below). I sent one to myself and the pictures in the emails are still there.  Grin
