Cannot Display HTML files in IE

Hi

I'm trying to develop a website using HTML.

I am writing the HTML in Notepad and then trying to display the output by opening it in my Browser(Internet Explorer 9). However when I try to open the file(File-Open) instead of displaying a webpage in HTML as you would expect it opens up Internet Explorers Download Manager. It then only allows you to open or save the file.. Opening it only views the raw HTML text.

It used to work. How can I switch off Download Manager.

Your problem could be, if you go into internet explorer.

1.Select tools>Internet Options>Goto the programs tab>find HTML Editor>select Notepad

2. Select Tools>Internet Options>Goto the programs tab>Select "Set Programs">Select "Associate a file type or protocol with a program">Scroll down to ".html", and select it>Hit change program>select Internet Explorer
