Since i upgraded to Firefox 4 the "Google clear search history" doesn`t work. In Firefox 3.6 it would clear what was in the drop down and also in the Google search bar when i clicked on "clear search history". Any ideas? Grin

hi Terrance,i just installed firefox4.its similar to the beta version i was using a while back.
although the speed is a major improvement.
i would imagine that you have imported all your favorites and history,bookmarks,etc... from the f/fox3 ?
you could try 'help/restart with addons dissabled
restart with addons dissabled/safe mode box appears on desktop. check all boxes/make changes and restart. firefox will reload to its default settings.
i also noticed you have a google toolbar.you could uninstall that, restart your pc and run Ccleaner. then insall it again.
joey will most probably have a great solution for this history problem you have.
if it were myself i would not import anything from another browser, but build the new browser from scratch.time consuming i know.
with firefox i always go straight to Tools/options.
i click on the privacy tab.  firefox will- use custom settings for history/permanent private browsing mode. accept cookies and third party cookies.
location bar/history and bookmarks/ok
i would then reopen tools/options   security 'tab'   un-check /remember passwords for sites(only if you wish to).
i had a similar problem with explorer 8 last year,as soon as i would type a google search, all my history would appear. i never found away of fixing that issue even with Ccleaner.seeing as yours is a tool bar, i would try reinstalling that before doing anything else.
to reverse any of the changes made you should be able to go to  History/show all history. this will open your library, import and backup 'tab'/restore. choose the date you wish to restore to.
i hope you find a solution amongst some of these ideas Smiley

Hello Terrace,

That does happen a lot when Firefox jumps to a major release. A lot of add-ons and toolbars do not work properly until there is an update for them. There is no way to fix this error, just wait for a new Google Toolbar release that is 100% compatible with Firefox 4.

Until then you could perform a shortcut command to erase history..

1.   Press and Hold Down the “Shift” and “Ctrl” keys
2.   While the Shift and Ctrl keys are still being held down Press and Release the “Del” key
3.   A popup should appear that will give you a lot of options to clear different types of history and cache

I would uninstall the Google Toolbar, then check in a week or 2 on the Google site for a new version. They should have a new version released by next month that will be 100% compatible with Firefox 4.
