I get this message often and the website won`t load. I restart my computer and things semm back to normal. My browser is Firefox 3.0.10. in Windows XP Home Edition. Any idea what to do? Attachment. [img=http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4295/resetc.jpg]

I have received that message many times.
The top 3 reasons for that message are,
1. The website you are attempting to visit is down or had a minor hiccup
2. Your DSL or Cable Internet connection is choppy and may cut off for a few seconds or even a couple of minutes once in a while
3. If you are using a wireless connection on your computer something is interfering and cutting you off at times

I get that message a LOT at work (100s of people). I get that message mainly when everyone at work jumps on the Internet at once. The Internet comes to a screeching halt.

You do not need to restart your computer every time it happens. The following will be just as good if not better than restarting your computer to get back your connection.
1. On the keyboard, hold down the Key toward on the bottom-left that has the Windows logo and hit the “R” key
2. Within that Run prompt that popped up type in, “cmd” and hit Enter
3. Type in, “ipconfig  /release” and hit Enter
4. Type in, “ipconfig  /renew” and hit Enter
5. Wait about 15 seconds and then close that box
6. Test out your Internet, it should work now

  Hello again. Could that be caused by browser Firefox as well as other things you mentioned. Hasn`t happened again yet. I recently went on to Cable Wi Fi also. Terry

That message does not have anything to do with Firefox. It is due to 1 of the three reasons I pointed out. If I had to guess I would say it has something to do with your wireless. The "ipconfig  /release" and renew command should do the job of resetting your wireless when this happens.

I think this can also occur on large networks, say at a work place.
