My dad called me today saying his internet was not working and stuff so i told him to restart his router and he did but he still told me his internet was not working and stuff when he trys to enter a site it says diagnose connection problem. I really have no clue what to do can you tell me plz?

im just playing with firefox4,i couldnt connect,i whent in browser,tools,configure network connection,settings,change automatic proxy configuration url.
it worked for me.
but this may not be your problem,worth a try tho.

can also try,start menu,connected to,open the window,right click on the connection,repair.windows will try to repair the connection itself,then it will say if problem persist ring your internet provider.
this has worked also in the past for me.

Try what Davo said. I was going to tell you the same thing.

1 other thing that may be the problem...
Sometimes my Internet service goes down. One time it was so bad it went down like for 3 days. It was not my fault or the router's fault. It was my provider'd fault.
If Davo's solutions do not work I am guessing it is your provier's fault. Call their technical support and talk to them. They may be like, "Yes. All service is down in your area right now" and tell you when it is going to go back up or something.
