Hello

A close friend of mine asked me a similar question last month. The current version of both operating systems from Apple and Google are pretty decent. The Android operating systems IMO has a slight edge due to the fact that it run Adobe Flash. Steven Jobs and the Apple Fanboys would lead you to believe that Adobe Flash is dead and there is no need to run it. Roughly 80 of the top 100 most popular websites in the world use Adobe Flash. The Google Android phones can view these websites naively without any special app that you have to pay for. The two websites that I frequent the most use Flash, YouTube and Facebook.
On top of the OS when you consider the hardware that runs the phones the newest breed of Droid phones are faster/smoother running than Apple’s latest iPhone 4. The iPhone 5 should be faster than the current breed of Droid phones. But when that comes out the latest generation of Droid phones will come out to meet or exceed the speed/smoothness of the iPhone 5.
I believe Apple still has more apps available for their iPhones compared to the apps Available for the Android phones.
Apple iPhones are also more supported in general by 3rd party devices. An example is a brand-new Bluetooth earpiece I got for Christmas. It has special iPhone functionality. The gap on this is definitely closing and I see support for the Android phones increasing every month.
You might think I am messing around on this next category but I am not. Apple iPhones, especially the latest and greatest of the moment (in this case the iPhone 4) has a “coolness factor” to them. I bought a new phone around the time the iPhone 4 came out. A lot of people I know were wide eyed when I pulled out my phone and they asked me, “Is that the new iPhone?”. They were all disappointed when I told them the truth, that it was not, despite my phone IMO being better, having more capabilities than the iPhone. I even had the same reaction from a few strangers out in public. For esteem reasons it almost makes me regret not buying one, lol. So in summary an Apple iPhone is a lot cooler than a Google Android phone.
Please do more research on the net before you buy anything. The above mumblings is just my opinion. For the record I do not own either. I own a cell phone with a special Linux OS that is called “Maemo 5”. The name of my phone is the “Nokia N900” (there are a lot of videos on this on YouTube). I only recommend this phone for super geeky people. For everyone out there that is not super geeky buy an iPhone or a Droid phone.
