I want to know if there's a way for Windows 7 users are able to send a message from a software like Command Prompt to another computer that has Windows Vista for free? We have a wired network. My dad's laptop is connected to our Internet router with a wire, my laptop is connected to the internet wiressly.

For stuff like that Google Talk, MSN Messenger and Yahoo IM are really good. They are all free too.

Currently I can even chat on Google Talk using my cell phone with people that are using PCs or Macs.
