Disc cleanup hangs on compress files. It gets to 3 bars and sits there for a long time. I tried the link> http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scrolled down to number 48 and clicked on the item disc cleanup to the right, not undo, and it comes to what you see in my attachment. I don`t know what to do with that. Any ideas. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

In the future there is an option within CCleaner (check box) where you can tell it to Not erase any usernames or passwords.
MyDefrag is a better defragger than the standard windows defragger

I installed Ccleaner version 2.31.1153. I don`t see the option in there. Are you saying the "option not erase usernames and passwords" is to come in a future version of Ccleaner?

I installed My defrag and ran analyze and at the top it says "paused press space to continue". Do you know what that means? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

MyDefrag is a better defragger than the standard windows defragger So are you saying there is a new version of Ccleaner coming with the option>"Not erase any usernames or passwords."? If i use the 2.31.1153 version it will remove them and i have to go right through several bookmarks to put them back on. Regarding My Defrag-i ran it and it does appear to be more thorough. I think i would mainly use analyze and defragment and not necessarily the other scripts?? What do you think? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The option in CCleaner has been around for a while now. Within the "Cleaner" options for different browsers it will be under "Form History" or "Form Information".
I recommend using the "Optimize Monthly" once a month. Just leave it on overnight, like right before you go to sleep since it will take a few hours. Alternate that with "Optimize Weekly" every 2-3 weeks.

Joey- Thank You, Auto complete Form history in IE under Windows, and saved form information in Firefox, under applications were already unticked an greyed out. (attached). I had a look at options in Ccleaner (attached). Could it be cookies are the problem? I moved the Mozilla entries across to keep, but haven`t run Ccleaner again yet. It may not work either, then i`d have to reenter lots of usernames and passwords. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Yes, you are correct. The only other option it could be is Cookies.
If the other options were left unchecked then you still can log in without typing your password. They way you do this is to Double-Click within the empty Login boxes on sites.
EXAMPLE: 1. Go to Gmail.com 2. Double-Click inside the empty "Username" box. It should show your username/login 3. Press the TAB key on your keyboard. Your password should be automatically imputed
See if that works :-)

Well i`m pleased to say the problem is solved. (see attached). In Ccleaner i unchecked the box against "cookies" in IE under Windows and in Firefox under applications. I ran Ccleaner fully and after that my usernames and passwords are still intact for sites in my bookmarks. As i mentioned earlier i went to options and kept Mozilla cookies. (attached). Will unchecking these affect the computer performance? Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Good to see the problem fixed. It will not affect performance as long as you use MyDefrag at least once a month.
