Author Topic: Forgot to change BIOS to boot from cd rom  (Read 836 times)

did a fresh install of windows xp pro but forgot to change the bios boot order to cd rom. message says missing asms file but i cant finish installation.any help

Do you have an older CD-rom lying around anywhere? Or can you borrow one from someone? Changing CD-roms will fix the situation most of the time. An older CD-rom is better than a newer CD-RW in these situations.

Swap out your drive with the older CD-rom and start the install process around. See how that works.
