Welcome to the site.  Smiley

Did you already do everything shown in this video tutorial to completely get rid of all your history, cache, etc? http://www.cleartechinfo.com/How-To-Delete-Internet-Explorer-8-History-Cookies-Cache-Passwords

If you already performed every step in the video the only other thing it could be is your bookmarks. Bookmarks are never deleted unless you manually delete each of them. When you start typing the bookmark addresses will be displayed in the address bar.

my bookmarks do show up in the address bar ,BUT so do some of the sites that are not booked-marked

e.g

i do not have google or anything relating to google in my bookmarks
but still after deleting HISTORY google still appears in the addressbar

I typed in the address bar of IE8 and a lot of junk popped out even though I erased all the history. I noticed that Microsoft preinstalled a lot of "Favorites" that are really junk. I got rid of those and stuff still popped up. So I checked and saw I had some website rss Feeds bookmarked. I got rid of those. Then I set the home page to blank.

So besides going through the steps in the video you must delete everything from the Favorites folder which includes the Favorites bar and Feeds bolder. Last set the home page to blank or "about:blank".
