My friend sent me a file and it just converted all my other existing files into a .LNK format, so now i can't open up those files because it says i don't have any prgram to open them with. and when i try to open up my firefox it asks me if i want to download firefox. Is this a virus or is there a way to fix this. either way i would like to know how i can fix this.

The .lnk file extension is a Pointer that links you to something. It could be to a program on your computer or it could be linked to a website. It might even automate a task or command. Somehow that .lnk file pulled in a virus/malware to your PC.

You have a virus/malware. Follow the video tutorial at the end of the article below. It should help with the problem.
