Linux is superior then windows.
It is safer. Linux administers data much better then what windows so and hence saves on a lot of Mbs then why do people still utilize windows?
If I am right about 85% people worldwide use windows.
Why even that windows is not free and Linux is free.

Windows is universal and comes with every desktop or laptop unless its an apple product i will come with Mac OS. Also more people prefer windows because it's best for gaming! Linux is just for open source developement.

People go with what they are used to. Most people have grown up with Windows. If you try to change the OS on them they freak out and go with what they are comfortable with. I prefer Windows mainly because like gee18 said it is best for gaming. I have a gaming mouse, gaming keypad, gaming sound card... all 100% compatible with Windows. And I play games that mostly Only work with Windows.

Its always good to use OS which is comfortable to you. Windows OS is used widely all over the world,its quite user friendly to work with windows then working in Linux and Unix. They are little difficult to handle.
