Is it dangerous to delete a registry key because I'm trying to permanently get rid of a standalone program that adds a registry key and i know what the key is but im afraid of removing it

Hi Rapheal,

Before messing with the registry I recommend the following...

#1, Thoroughly uninstall the stand-alone program using the free Revo Uninstaller. Be sure to use the "Advanced Uninstall" option. That safely deletes registry options.

#2, Restart your PC

#3, Use the free CCleaner to delete any extra junk left over. Use the "Cleaner" and "Registry" options.

Its a reg key in the explorer section of the registry. And its for a famous injector called perx

There is a chance it could make your computer not startup correctly if you delete the registry entry.

I highly recommend backing up your registry in case you something goes wrong and your system fails after the deletion. Checkout the article by Microsoft below on backing up your registry.
