Your opinion on Technitium MAC Address Changer?

A friend told me about, it  reveals every Network Interface Card used in your computer. The NIC has a coded MAC address from the manufacturer, which is used to access the Windows operating system drivers. With Technitium MAC Address Changer you can change your original MAC address and set a new MAC address for your NIC.

The only reason I could think of using this is for malicious purposes like cracking (the bad type of hackers aka "crackers").
