Using Sony Sound Forge i`ve put music from an LP onto my computer so that i can burn the sound waves onto a cd. The cd plays on my computer but not on a standalone cd player. Any suggestions?

Your problem is 1 of 2 things...

1. Your standalone CD player cannot read the blank CDs your are using
OR
2. When you burned the .wav files onto a CD you chose to burn a "Data" disc. In order for the music to be heard on a standalone CD player like the one in your car you need to burn the .wav files as an "Audio" CD.

In the link below there is a video tutorial that shows how to transform computer audio files (.wav, .mp3 and .wma) into a normal music CD that can be played in your car. I am using a free piece of software. But there are many other programs out there that will do just as good a job.

Thank You for your assistance. I downloaded CDBurnerXP.se and burned the sound wave music files and the CD plays fine on my stereo cd player. I was using Nero 7 Essentials to make an audio CD (see attachment) and it would not play on there for me. So it looks like Nero goes in the bin. Is there something like CD Burner free to burn DVDS please?      Grin

That is odd that CDBurnerXP worked better than Nero. Usually they are about the same. I will note that. I know in the future there will be someone with your exact Audio CD problem so I will just simply link them here.  Smiley

For burning Movies, I have only used Nero. I don't know of anything better in that area.

When it comes to burning data DVDs and Blu-Ray CDBurnerXP does the job.

My attachments show what happens when i use Nero 7 essentials. Also, even though the files were added the burn fails and it says "could not perform start of disc at once". Invalid field in parameter. CD burner xp, the one you recommended, did not do those things and burned great. I use DVD Flick for burning DVDS.
