You might have an anti-virus, firewall, pop-up blocker or other security program blocking AOL from being installed or working properly. You need to disable them or temporarily turn them off, then reinstall. Before you do that you will need to thoroughly uninstall anything AOL-related to prevent conflicts. Follow the instructions below…

#1 – Using Firefox download a fresh copy of the newest AOL software from the AOL website. Store it on your Desktop

#2 - Thoroughly uninstall anything AOL related from your computer using Revo Uninstaller’s advanced uninstall. Here is a Revo Uninstaller tutorial http://www.cleartechinfo.com/Learn-How-To-Uninstall-Software-Windows-Revo-Uninstaller

#3 – Use CCleaner to clean up your computer. Be sure to use CCleaner’s Registry cleaner. Here is a CCleaner tutorial http://www.cleartechinfo.com/Learn-How-To-CCleaner-Clean-Optimize-Free-Up-Hard-Drive-Space-Windows

#4 – Make sure any and all anti-virus, firewall, pop-up blockers and any other security software is now turned off or disabled

#5 – Install the fresh copy of the AOL software. If it gives you options only install the bare minimum of what you need.
