CD Burner XP

I`m trying to add files to a DVD-r disc (which has small files already on it) using CD Burner. I have the multisession option ticked but when i try to add/burn it says the disc is not writable. I tried it with different discs. Also i have tried to go into the CD Burner website and it says "oops this link is broken". Any clues? My links below.

Hello again, CD XP Burner must have been down for a while so i can get into it now. However when i try to burn or add files i get the message as in my attachment. I see on google many people have the same problem. I use Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim discs.

or perhaps that disc has been finalised already and new data can not be added .
have you tried to burn a fresh disc with other data on it instead?
if that works then you could send or rip the data from the dvd,depending on the program it was origanaly burnt with.

try sending the data from the dvd disc to your documents by going to 'computer' right click 'dvd drive' select 'open',using your mouse click over all the data and then 'right click' send to documents.then with a new disc add that saved data along with the new data you want to add and try and burn that.
if you need to rip the dvd's data first,but dont have a program to rip with.then let me know and we can sort it out.

The first link was to indicate that i selected the multisession option in Nero and the second link after the burn failed.
CD Burner XP is supposed to accept CD and DVD discs. I use Verbatim CD-R and Taiyo Yuden DVD discs.
I`ve tried several CD discs in CD Burner XP-leave disc open and continue disc selected-with new discs and discs with jpeg data already on them, but get a burn error. I tried a Taiyp Yuden DVD with an ISO file and it burned ok.
I think there`s something missing in the settings to burn a data disc.

sorry for the late reply.ive been realy,realy,realy, realy sick the past month.
i just got a bunch of CD's/DVD's.
some are CD-R and DVD-R, also CD-RW (rewritable)
if you give me a couple of days ill test a bunch of settings and see what works.
theres also (from memory) an option in cdburnerxp that alows a disc to be use as a

Hi, i`m sorry that you`ve been sick. I have been on the CD Burner XP forum and reply from "Flo" says that the developers are working on the problem but don`t know when it will be solved. All options in CD Burner XP work for me except "data disc". I have included screen shots of what problems i have had in the forum. So we`ll have to wait unless you come up with something. Keep well.

i would recomend uninstalling the version you have now with revo using advanced method,and deleting all reg files and share folders.
then restart your computer and run ccleaner,also clean the registry.
then install the new version from the link below.
all settings were left at default using the compact instalation method on cdburnerxp (compact means no other language)
dont forget to tick the ISO option during install aswell

ok,now in your other post regarding outlook recovery,i beleive with abit of time i can find a recovery program or method(hopefully).
but running ccleaner 'cleaner option' might make it harder,but not impossible.
also you are concerned about deleting registry keys. i totally understand that.
i am confident in myself doing this using ccleaner and revo, and theres also a back up option that can restore the registry keys in ccleaner.

due to your concerns,and the chance of running ccleaner will make recovery possibly more difficult without purchasing an awesome recovery program (prob around $60) and having to rely on free alternatives instead,i would suggest this method first instead.

if you dont have it already,download and install ccleaner. watch joeys tutorial (link below).
use ccleaner in this way,
open ccleaner and on the left side pick 'tools' option,choose 'uninstaller' option.
click on the program inside ccleaner (in this case cdburnerxp).choose 'run uninstaller'.
after uninstalling cdburner restart your computer.
then make a folder and name it something like 'Ccleaner B-up' or what ever you like.i would put this in the my files folder aswell,but anywheres fine.
now open ccleaner again. but due to wanting to recover outlook emails, do NOT run the 'cleaner' option. if you have it installed and have cleaned the disk already its ok still because everything is in some way recoverable and any computer ferenzic investigator would agree.
choose the 'registry option' scan and fix selected issues.it will offer to back up the registry,choose yes. now in the window that pops up search for the folder you have made (ie...Ccleaner B-up),click save.then choose to fix issues.
now those registry keys are backed up and can be restored agin by going to the backup folder you created and clicking on the registry file (but only if nessesary).
until we work out a recovery method for outlook dont clean with ccleaner.instead just clean the disc with the microsoft disc cleaner in your start menu 'tools folder'.
now you shoud be able to cleanly install cdburnerxp with new registry keys,and also have a hard drive thats a little easier to recover outlook from.

now install the newly downloaded versin of cdburnerxp see how you go.

Hi Davo, i followed your instructions but i stiil get the error. see attachments. I have used Taiyo Yuden DVDs and they work. The ones i just tried are Verbatim Cd-R and they don`t work.attached.

Those 2 files i was trying to put on a blank Verbatim CD-R disc. I just tried a Verbatim DVD-RW and erased it, put new jpeg data on it and then added a few more and it worked. My burner drive is "DVD Ram-HL-DT-ST DVD Ram Gh22n550scsi. Something strange is happening with the CD-rs. Cd Burner XP says it accepts CDS.

so your DVD's are able to add more data?but not CD-R?
do the CD-R even burn at moment?
i just added more data to the existing dvd i made the vid about.
then i burnt an   ' IMC CD-R 700MB/80min  52X '
therse are the cheapest CD-R's you can possibly buy. i purchase them in 10 Packs for $2.50 australian,from CRAZY CLARKS.
there DVD-R are also really good for the same price.
and have never had a problem with them.
ive even made them my perminant backup copys of XP,win7,linux,heirens boot,Backtrack,ubuntu,OS discs.

I just used my Nero Smart Start 8 and i was able to put data on the same brand of disc-Verbatim CD-R and then selected multisession and added a couple more. No problem. Don`t know?

Yes i`m thinking it could be the Verbatim CD-R discs, but i just tried another Verbatim CD-R and clicked on "Finalise disc" instead of "Leave disc open" and it burned ok. Well?

'in my opinion' the Verbatim CD-R may perhaps have or is missing the encoding qualities to be able (or not for a better word) to perform such tasks,and the support from cdburnerxp site may not be aware of this and are focusing on the software being the error instead of the basic disc itself being the problem.

Yes you could be right. I`ll have a look at getting some different CDS and give them a go. You seem to have knowledge to be a computer technician.

im actually studying some windows courses (well if i could get my internet working properly that is lol) ive been having some speed issues for a couple of months now  and have had basic 52kb/s dial up despite the fact im on ADSL2 and should be blistering along. until last night ive been forced to go back to TV.
the issue is being resolved (apparently?    )
if my speed drops again ill be referring to your post regarding how you built your antenna for your modem to reach speeds of 100MB/s download.thats an impressive display of skill and incentive. infact im yet to meet a ISP technician that can do this.

Hi Davo, i`m on Cable WI Fi wireless connection. I originally was connected with Netgear USB adaptors and experienced low signal and disconnections. A Telstra technician said it was the Netgear USB adaptors(attached) causing the problem and to install a wireless card which i did, and he was right. (see attached). I also have the aluminium foil reflector around the modem which is about 30 feet away from my computer at the other end of the house and my wireless signal is always very good. The signal has to go through two walls. For the reflector all you need is aluminium foil  on cardboard to make a reflector.

Burn Error-It`s a mystery to me. I bought new discs and the same thing happens. Data disc burns on a dvd rw but not on cd-r.

if the support on the website isnt sure how to resolve the problem then i think i will only be guessing.
i can think of a few ideas,from  an operating system error,bad discs,the writable abilitys on the disc,conflict etc... (but i honestly couldnt say for sure).
if any other techs have any ideas,your suggestions would be valued.
