How do I delete specific firefox history items permanently without losing the whole history?

I've already deleted the items from Firefox but want to get rid of them permanetly.  i have Cclearer but i'm worried tht if i use the clear history function within this for firefox,  i'll lose all my history

Welcome to the site.  Smiley

This is definitely doable in Firefox. 1st you must have Firefox v3.5 or better. Then you can follow my tutorial on the subject which is linked below.

thanks.  Would this also remove the selected history from the hard drive so there is no record?

I don't think the version of firefox is 3.5 but it's also not my machine therefore I'm a little nervous to play with things.

what I've done is delete the selected items from the firefox history, cache and cookies but i suspect this doesn't get rid of things permanently.

there is something called Ccleaner on the machine and this has the option to clear Firefox history, I guess from the hard drive.  Ive used this to clear the cache etc.  but I don't have the option to get rid of the full history so wanted to know if i could use this tool selectively and if so, how?

do you have any other advice?

another question: if i used a tool like Ccleaner to remove the overall history of  firefox history, would this also remove the current 90days of history currently that is accessible directly from fiefox itself?

CCleaner removes the complete history, cache, etc from your computer.

Anything is recoverable from your hard drive once you delete it. It just takes an advanced computer user to recover it or the FBI, lol.

The only true way of completely getting rid of any data or history on your computer is to completely wipe clean the hard drive using a special program (after this the hard drive will not work anymore) followed by taking it out of the computer and physically destroying it with a magnet then a hammer.
