Dear Tech,

I have three computers using one wireless hp Officejet Pro 8500 for printing and scanning.  All the computers can access the printer to print, but only one cannot see the scanner twain when I try to scan something. (Two of the computers can scan).

I have tried to uninstall and re install but have had no luck.  Can U help?

Hi, welcome to the site.

We need to figure out what the 2 fully working computers have that the 1 computer does not. I have a few questions for you.

What operating system are all 3 computers running? Windows XP, Vista, 7, maybe Mac OS X?

How do all 3 computers connect to the Internet? Do they connect via wireless or wired connections?

At some point were all 3 able to see the twain scanner?

Solution #1

On the PCs that do not work, download and install the Latest Drivers

Download Here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3752462&

After it installs, restart your PCs and try to scan to them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

If solution 1 does not work then proceed solution #2 below...

All the details are listed at the HP website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02114802&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&site=null&lang=en&product=3752462&key=null

The scanner does not read my papers on a consistent basis. The roller moves a little and then it times out.

Try solution #1 to update to the latest drivers, then try solution #2 if that does not work
