I've had my old Super8 films transferred to digital and a DVD made (by a professional).  I also had the raw files put on external hard drive.  (They are in separate files in QuickTime format.)
I have a program, QuickMediaConvert, that will convert to a Windows Media File so I can view the files on my computer with Windows Media Player ... also I can import to Movie Maker and edit and add music.  There are files that I want to send to distant family members without some of the other files.
What I want to do now is copy (or burn ?) these cleaned-up files to a CD that will play on a DVD player so my elderly parents can watch on their TV.
I've downloaded CDBurnerXP and also DVDFlick ... but I don't know enough to see how to get to the end result.
Is there anyone that can tell me the step by step process ... please assume I know nothing.

Hello and welcome to the site!  Smiley

I have took regular PC video files only playing on my Windows computer and converted and burned them to a DVD so I can view the videos on any set-top DVD player. Although I used another program to do so.

Give me a few days. I will download and learn how to use DVDFlick which seems like it accomplishes the same tasks as the other program I used. Then I will create a video tutorial for you which will show you how to easily take any of your Quicktime video files and turn them into DVD format while burning them onto a blank DVD.

Thank you so much for your help ... BUT ... what I want to do is get this on a Video CD.  I don't have a DVD burner only a CD burner ... I think DVDFlick supports this but I don't know enough about what steps to take and choices to make in the program ... to produce a VCD that will play on a standalone DVD player.
Thanks again for you help.

I installed and went over DVDflick for a while. It does not support anything besides burning to DVD format using standard and higher capacity DVDs. CDBurnerXP does not support this feature either.

Nero burning software and VCDEasy do support the burning/creation of Video CDs and Super VCDs. SVCD is better quality and I recommend that you use this format if you are using CDs.

Nero supports Windows Media Video (.wmv) files which I see by your first post that you are able to create those. VCDEasy only supports MPEG files. Unless you can convert your video files to MPEG I suggest you try out Nero.

Nero 15day trial - http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero9-trial.php

VCDEasy - http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_WhatIsIt&item=VCDEasy

Thank you so much; I've been researching this for such a long time.   I'll certainly be working on this today ... and I'll be back if I need help.
