Operating System = Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. Application = Windows Live Mail 2011. Problem = every time WLM is started, Windows MSI dialogue box appears with message as indicated.
Google research indicates this has been a long standing problem, particularly with MS Office versions.
Standard advice suggests un-install and re-install application - in my case this is ineffectual.
My feeling is that the base problem is somehow connected with user permissions in the Registry as the Event Viewer indicates that Windows MSI cannot access a particular component.
I have downloaded and installed the Windows Installer Cleanup tool which seems to be only aimed at MS Office installations.
Clicking CANCEL on the MSI dialogue box does not interfere with the normal loading and running of WLM.
Any advice will be gratefully accepted.

Hi,

This is a tough one. You already tried what I would recommend (uninstall / reinstall).

Another cleanup tool I always use after I uninstall anything is the free "CCelaner". I use it to clean up leftover file junk and registry junk.

Hopefully one of the other techs in the forum will be able to help out better.

Tried both methods suggested ...  in both circumstances, Windows 7 refused to re-boot.  Thanks to Acronis True Image, I was able to recover to the position at original post time.

Many Thanks for your interest and attention.

My current plan is to look closely at non-MS freeware applications whilst waiting for MS to issue a fix.
