FastStone Image Viewer is a cool, little image utility. As its name suggests it is an image viewer (an excellent one I might add) with a few photo editing features. It is “freeware” so that means it is 100% free and will not lock you out in the future, asking you to pay any money (but you can make a donation to the company if you choose to do so).

[adblockingdetector id=”1″]The basic image viewer that is built into Windows 8, 7, Vista and XP is very basic with limited options. It also only reads a few image formats. In contrast FastStone is an advanced image viewer with a few built-in photo editing options like cropping, resizing and red-eye removal. It can also read almost any image format on the Internet, including Adobe Photoshop. It can also change the format of an image to another one (ex: change my photos in .tiff format to .jpg format).
