I have been a huge Call of Duty fan since the original. Every time I am bored or done with PC gaming another installment of the Call of Duty series gets released. World at War came out in November 2008. I ignored it as much as I could when it hit the store shelves since I had productive things to do in my life like build this website and create tutorials for all of you. But I broke down after having a few beers at my sister’s house. :-/ Her husband bought it on for their Xbox 360. The controls were a little awkward since I am used to the keyboard and mouse combo but I got used to it after 30 minutes of getting killed a lot more times that I would like to admit.

[adblockingdetector id=”1″]When I played the new Nazi Zombie level for the first time I was like, O-M-F-G, it was the most exciting first person shooter level I have ever played in my life. This is coming from a seasoned first person shooter veteran who has played FPS games since the original Wolfenstein id Software released in the early 90s. I would describe the Nazi Zombie level as Resident Evil meets Call of Duty with a hint of Quake.

After playing the game for a couple of hours I was sold on the new Call of Duty: World at War. Nothing was going to stop me from buying it for my PC! I purchased Call of Duty: World at War for the PC in December the week before Christmas. I also bought a new video card and CPU. I had an nVidia 7600GT and upgraded it to a 9600GT. My CPU was upgraded from an Intel E6300 to an E8500. For those of you wondering about my RAM, I already have 4 GB so I do not need more.

World at War logs how many hours you have been playing down to the minute. As of this post I have put in 1 day, 13 hours and 47 minutes of game play since December. I have mostly played online and made it to level 56 which is categorized as a Brigadier General. For all you hardcore COD freaks out there, yes I know I should have put in at least 10 full days since December and have made it all the way to level 65, well into Prestige mode. I just need to go outside and get away from my computer once in a while okay, so kill me. ;-p

The COD: WaW graphics are good, the sound is awesome (I have a Creative X-Fi sounds card and 7.1 speakers) and the maps are large enough for a lot of people to run around shooting each other. If you are into the First Person Shooter genre then I definitely recommend it. If you easily get motion sickness then this game is not for you. If any of you that play COD WaW know of any GOOD and FAST online servers please post the IP and server name in the comment section below. I am always looking for good, fast servers to play COD WaW on.
