A school teacher I know asked me one day how he could download an educational video off of YouTube to show to his students in class. He needed to do this because YouTube and many other sites are blocked at the school he teaches works at. It took me a while to research this for him. I tested several programs and websites to see which one would be the best, free service.
[adblockingdetector id=”2″]My favorite choice that worked well ended up being Keep-Tube.com. It will work on any PC, Mac or Linux computer capable of accessing YouTube.com. Keep-Tube not only downloads videos and music from YouTube and Facebook. It works on a lot of other video hosting sites. Here is a list of only some of the other video websites it works with:

Keep-Tube.com does a good job at maintaining their site. YouTube randomly changes their programming code. When this happens websites and programs suddenly lose the ability to download videos from YouTube. Keep-Tube usually fixes the incompatibilities quickly and makes their site compatible again. They do this all for free.
If you download a video on your computer and your computer can’t play it because of some “codec” error what you need to do is download and install the free universal player “VLC” from here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
