I removed flash player from my pc. pc uses windows xp professional. My ram is 1.8 g. I play pogo games and the ones on java I have no problem, but the ones running on flash causes my computer to overheat and shut down. the cpu is 100 %. My problem started when I updated the flash driver.. I watched your video on how to remove the flash and I have removed the flash, but yet it still runs the games, but overheats. I restarted my pc several times but I cannot find where this program is hiding or how to remove it. I’d like to get back to my games and my netflix movies without overheating/ Please help. I’m not very computer smart, but I think I know how to remove programs, but this one I can’t find to remove. It does not show up in the add or remove programs anymore. So where do I go to now. I tried to use the revo, but it was not free as you suggested. Please help. I also use google chrome as my main browser.

    Hi Bettye,

Are you on a laptop or desktop?
Does this happens only when you try to play?
How long since you got your laptop/desktop?

I am using a laptop and it is a bit older, but it was working fine until I updated my flash player earlier this year. That’s when it started overheating and turning itself off. I can’t watch streaming netflix movies anymore and my pogo games that use flash. I can play the ones that use java for hours and my laptop does not shut down, I’ve checked for threats or viruses or bugs or malware, but I can’t seem to find anything malicious. But when I run anything using flash my pc gets hot and shuts down usually within 30 mins. I don’t like doing that, so I try not to use the flash/ The weird part is I removed it from my control panel but yet those games will still play and I can still watch movies on netflix, but it does overheat. I thought about removing google chrome and see if the flash will go away. I noticed google chrome has plug ins for different drives. i think thats what they’re called and maybe that’s where the flash is running from. I do use xp. Like I said this is an older model laptop but it was working great until the flash problem. Thanks for any suggestions. I just don’t know what to do. I can’t afford a new computer.

    Hi Bettye,

Google Chrome has Adobe Flash built into it. So even if you remove the flash player that you install from Adobe you will still have it. Use Mozilla Firefox. Flash should not work with this browser unless you purposely install it.
