The Windows Vista desktop is usually the first thing you see are you login to Windows Vista. Cluttered, disorganized and junk are three words I have overheard people use to describe Windows desktops that they see on peoples’ computers. In order to be efficient when working in a Windows environment you need to be familiar with the desktop options, settings and some tips and tricks.

I have been asked many questions related to the Windows desktop when helping people with Windows in my professional and personal life. Some of the questions I have been asked are noted below:
• “I deleted my Vista Recycle Bin by accident! How do I get it back?”
• “How do I organize all the clutter on the screen?”
• “How do I create a new folder on the desktop?”
• “I want to create a new Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc] file, how do I do it quickly?”
• “How do I add the My Computer icon to my desktop?”
• “How do I make those thingies on my screen [aka desktop icons] bigger?”
