There chance you will be able to recover Firefox bookmarks, but it is not 100%.

You need to find File Recovery software that can recover Firefox bookmarks. The extension for Firefox bookmarks is “.json”.

I know of 2 free recovery software programs (there may be more free ones, I just know of 2), “Recuva” and “Wise Data Recovery”.

Here are instructions on how to use Recuva. It is the more complicated of the 2.

Step 1: Download / Install “Recuva” from here: http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds
(Download the “Installer” version unless you are familiar with portable apps)

    Step 2: Run the program.

Step 3: Click the checkbox titled “Do not show this Wizard on Startup.” Then click the “Cancel” button

Step 4: Go to options > Actions and check everything under the “Actions > Scanning” category. Click the “OK” button

Step 5: In the text input box on the right type in the characters “.json” without the parenthesis.

Step 6: Click the “Scan” button. Now wait. This may take an hour or 2.

Step 7: When the scan is completed it may show a lot of different files that are not relevant to what you want. Search through the files and look for any files that are named SIMILAR (but not the same) as this “bookmarks-2015-05-24_8.json”.

Step 8: If you find a winner, click the checkbox near the filename then click the “Recover” button

You can also try Wise Data Recovery. Get it from here: http://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html

Not sure if those 2 programs will work for your specific situation but it does not hurt or cost anything to try with them.
