The automated spell checking Firefox feature is one of my favorites. I love how it corrects my spelling when I am typing on Gmail, posting a comment on a blog or forum and various other websites. When the spell checker does not recognize a word or name I can easily Add it to the built-in dictionary.

I have had people tell me that the automatic spellchecker annoys them. They have asked me for help on how to disable the feature. I am assuming the people that want this feature disabled writes a lot of Internet slang and abbreviations. In that case all the red squiggles would be very annoying. Either way it’s your computer, your Firefox browser and you can customize it any way you like.
